My name is Kieley. I am a proud wife, toddler mama, L&D Registered Nurse, and I have a passion for sustainable, non-toxic living.
When I started on this journey towards a more conscious & sustainable lifestyle, I went a little overboard. I would stress about every little thing that wasn’t perfectly non-toxic or eco-friendly. I felt overwhelmed by the upsetting amout of plastic in our oceans, our rainwater! I felt the need to fix every area in my life that didn’t follow sustainable, eco-friendly practices while trying to reduce my exposure to toxins as well. This was a very large task to take on all at once - but once I started reading the information out there on the dangers to our planet, to ourselves, I felt a very strong call to action. So I tried to do it all, and all at once.
However, I soon realized that this was not the way to do things - in terms of my happiness and health, stressing over every little thing would not be sustainable. So I started to think about the things that were most important to me, the values that meant the most to my family, and the things that I was okay compromising on, because let’s face it - perfection isn’t my goal here. So what is my goal? Making conscious choices to create a healthier lifestyle for my family and our planet, without the stress to do it all perfectly! After all, a happy, fulfilled life requires balance - at least it does if you ask me!
Over the years, I have spent countless hours searching and comparing products, taking into consideration the company’s sustainability practices, the products contents (avoiding toxic chemicals whenever possible) and of course the items price point - because truth be told, many of these perfectly sustainable, non-toxic products are set at a price point far too high for many families. And this is where that compromise starts to come in, those conscious choices and the balance between it all.
In this blog, I highlight the ways I have found balance in my own home, and the strategies I use to create a sustainable, non-toxic home where the happiness and health of my family are my truest goals.
