25 Most Affordable Sustainable Swimwear Brands
Are you searching for sustainable swimsuits that don’t break the bank? Look no further - I’ve compiled a list of 25 ethical swimwear brands that are committed to a greener future, and are actually affordable. Because looking good while saving the planet shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg.
Why Choose Sustainable Swimwear?
In an age where the fashion industry is flooded with fast fashion brands, and most eco-friendly brands are very expensive, many consumers are choosing to shop on sites where they can get a load of trendy clothes for the least amount of money. But what does this do to our planet? If you’re searching for eco-friendly swimwear brands, you probably already know the answer.
According to earth.org, 92 million tonnes of fast fashion waste ends up in our landfills annually. This alone is a frightening statistic, and when coupled with the tremendous water waste, increasing global emissions and devastating microplastic crisis, the overall detriment to our planet is massive (to combat microplastic from entering our waters, when cleaning synthetic fabrics in a washing machine, I recommend using a guppy bag to trap the microplastic particles, which break off from the synthetic fibers and enter our waterways).
So what can we do? The good thing is there are actually several things we can do. The first is to shop consciously. As consumers, we can make a positive impact by selecting brands that are focused on limiting their environmental impact and healing the harm fast-fashion is causing to our planet. There are many incredible brands creating high-quality swimsuits using sustainable fabrics. These fabrics are made out of things like recycled bottles and fishing nets pulled from the ocean. Not only does this decrease ocean waste, it also reduces the amount of new material that is being used in each product. When we support brands like this, we are supporting our planet.
The second thing we can do is make a conscious decision to purchase higher quality items, and less of them. While you could easily buy 5 ultra cheap swimsuits made from synthetic materials from a company with questionable morals, you can instead make the conscious choice to select 1 swimsuit from this list, focusing on the timeless designs that will last you many years. Less really is more when it comes to living with our planet in mind. And when doing the math using this mentality, it will also save you money!
Here are the top sustainable brands for eco swimwear on the market today!

Alohas is the only company on the list to offer a 30% discount if you shop on demand. Shopping on demand is one of the most sustainable things you can do when it comes to consuming goods. Shopping on demand essentially means that your product is made to order, which drastically reduces textile waste. These are also some of the cutest bikinis and one-pieces on the list. So take advantage of the 30% on demand program if you’re searching for a company with sustainable practices, and don’t mind waiting a bit longer for your items.
